TOKYO, Oct 26 - Nintendo Co Ltd aims to launch its Wii console in South Korea next year, company president Satoru Iwata said on Friday.
Nintendo Co. said Thursday profits more than doubled in the six months to Sept. 30 on the roaring success of its hit Wii and Nintendo DS game consoles.

Japan’s Nintendo Co Ltd nearly tripled its first-half profit and boosted its annual earnings outlook on Thursday as its popular Wii and DS game machines outsell rival Sony Corp’s PlayStation.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has once again ruled out a price cut for the dementedly popular Nintendo Wii. “We’re still focusing on how to meet booming demand,” Iwata said today in comments reported by the Associated Press . “We’re absolutely not considering a price cut,” he added.
