Playstation 3 Overheating Woes

It wasn’t a good showing for Sony at the Tokyo Games Show in September 2006.  They were showing off their eagerly anticipated new Playstation 3 consoles and the demo machines were sputtering and dying left and right.  This was more bad news piled on top of what was already a public relations nightmare with recent recall fisaco of Sony’s lithium ion batteries.

The PS3 Buzz Continues

Even though the Sony PlayStation 3 was released in the United States on November 17th , the excitement is yet to die down. Estimates of the number of units released in the U.S. range between the expected 400,000 and perhaps only 250,000. Yet despite its high price, retailers were sold out in a matter of hours and others were auctioned on eBay for a lot more than the retail price.

The 60GB PS3 Features

As DVD playback completed the Sony Playstation 2 as more than just game machine, heavily built multimedia characteristics make the new Sony 60GB Playstation 3 more flexible as a home entertainment machine than any other previous consoles. Moreover, features like video, digital audio; digital photo viewing, Internet access and video will probably make the gaming console into a main component of high tech media setups. It is first and foremost a game console and a great one at that.

Sony PS3 News

When Sony Computer Entertainment declared their next generation system the new Sony Playstation 3, they flaunted it as having a huge amount of features. These include producing 1080p High Definition visuals, High Definition movies through Blu-Ray functionality etc. Sony Computer Entertainment even promotes TiVo functionality and capabilities, an online service being supported by fan boys as Sony Playstation Live, and a content distribution structure that is quite same to iTunes.
